Rydell Pellaway – COVID-19

To anyone who will understand!

Each day my mind fills with the unknown and I think and wonder will I come out of this prison alive?

My feelings vary day to day because of the grim reality of my situation of being sentence to over 13 years for allegedly biting someone gives me a sense that this could be how my story ends: in the midst of a pandemic my search for justice could fade away in my wait in the appeals court. Certainly being faced with a death sentence dues to the rapid spread of this virus.

The truth is lately alone my eyes have been filled with tears behind closed doors because I have a grandmother on hospice, an aunt in the ICU and a second cousin that’s incarcerated for a non-violent crime who has tested positive for COVID-19 but the question is who really cares about us?
